Knee
The knee is a very complex joint and the most common joint injured in sports injuries, both in adolescents and young adults. The knee often develops degenerative arthritis in the aging population. A majority of knee injuries and symptoms can be treated non-operatively through bracing immobilization, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medication, the occasional cortisone injection and hylagon injections. Diagnosing the etiology of knee symptoms requires a thorough history, a knowledgeable hands-on physical exam and, at times, x-rays and MRIs.
